Program Developer  ·  WorkReady™ for Schools

Twenty years on the hiring side of the table. Now I help students get ready for it.

WorkReady™ is the career-coaching and workforce-readiness program I developed for Louisiana schools. It is built on what I have seen inside organizations: how employers recruit, evaluate, develop, and retain people, and what helps new employees succeed.

Why I Built It
Students hear a lot about what employers want. I have been the employer.

For more than two decades I led human resources in logistics, transportation, retail, property management, education, and nonprofit organizations. My work covered the full employee lifecycle: talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and leadership development.

From that side of the table, the gap is easy to see. Many young people arrive with ability and credentials but without a clear plan, and without the workplace habits that build trust early: communicating with a supervisor, taking feedback, owning a mistake, understanding a paycheck.

WorkReady brings that employer perspective into schools. Career coaching helps students decide where they are going and how to get there. Workforce readiness helps them succeed once the opportunity arrives.

The Employer Perspective

What students learn comes from how organizations actually work.

01

How employers recruit

Becomes instruction on résumés, applications, interviews, and first impressions.

02

How employers evaluate

Becomes practice with expectations, feedback, reliability, and accountability.

03

How employers develop

Becomes planning for career pathways, credentials, and growth over time.

04

How employers retain

Becomes skill in professional relationships, conflict, and building trust in the first 90 days.

I am also the founder of Mon Amie’s Business and Wellness Solutions, an education, wellness, and workforce-development enterprise serving Louisiana students, families, schools, and organizations. WorkReady is one of its programs.
